On the initiative and demanding of a group of construction entrepreneurs from Bjelovar – Bilogora County, Poslovni Park Bjelovar has started the founding of construction cluster in Bjelovar. The project was welcomed and had strong support from city and county authorities as well as of companies and individuals who are connected with the construction industry.

After the initial founding gathering of the construction cluster, the working group has been organized in order to prepare the formal founding of the cluster. The working group took the activities directed to the regional development of construction industry and support to its members during the preparation of licensing according to the new rules of the Construction Law as a basis of its Plan. For this reasons, Poslovni Park Bjelovar ordered the study which had confirmed the validity of realization of the project. 40 companies/trades showed interest to join the cluster and the founding of the cluster is planned to take place in the first half of the 2008.

Poslovni Park Bjelovar is carrier of the project of establishing the full-time studies of entrepreneurship in Bjelovar. In the accordance, Poslovni Park Bjelovar has participated in the validity study as well as in the designing the curriculum of the Faculty of Economy Zagreb which has, after the complex procedure of issuing the permit, enrolled the first students in November 2007. The Faculty of Economy Zagreb holds these under graduating studies of entrepreneurship only in Bjelovar. 

The studies last for three years.

- Completing the studies, the student gets 180 ECTS points.
- The team of professionals worked on designing this unique program which is in accordance with the needs of our region.
- Enrolled: 22 full-time students, 15 part-time and 1 with special needs
= 38 students

After the year of project preparation, the National Council for High Education approved on 26 September, 2007 the proposal of Faculty of Economy Zagreb for opening the dislocated under graduating studies of entrepreneurship in Bjelovar. The Ministry of Science, Education and Sports issued the permit for the beginning of the studies.

For this year, it is planned to enroll 50 full-time students and 100 part-time students. The permit has been issued in October 2007, so the response for the enrollment was not as expected.

But, it’s a fact that, after the long expectations and invested efforts, the full-time studies in Bjelovar is starting to function and that all those who were expecting such an outcome can finally study in its town.

Poslovni Park Bjelovar d.o.o. together with Bjelovar City as a partner, works on the project of founding Technical under graduating School, course Mechatronics. According to the needs and demands of economy, the decision to found full-time three-year technical studies of Mechatronics, has been issued.

Since the Mechatronics is wide scientific and technical area, ranging from mechanical engineering and electrotehnics to electronics, information and telecommunication technologies, it is normal to assume that the students graduating these studies won’t have any problems with the employment.

Technical undergraduating school in Bjelovar, institution in the founding and owned by Bjelovar City, has the intention to organize several technical studies and to become the predecessor of the college in Bjelovar.

The future production incubator will have area of 2000m2 and will consist of 8 type workshops in the ground floor and dozen of office spaces on the first floor.

The incubator will be intended for the entrepreneur beginners dealing strictly with production activities and who intend to grow and to employ new employees. The entrepreneur manufacturers will pass through the incubating process that lasts for 5 years.

By building the Business Incubator as just one segment of other supportive segments in the business infrastructure, we wish to help the manufacturers beginners to develop their ideas and goals.

Poslovni Park Bjelovar d.o.o. and Bjelovar City as partners, and CEPOR (Centre for the developmental politics for small and middle companies and entrepreneurship) as a holder, have carried out the project “Promotion of Entrepreneurship Skills in Trade Schools: Preparation for Labor Market” and the promotion of the manual “I Want to Be an Entrepreneur”. The project was financed from the EU pre-acceptance fund CARDS 2003.

The project is during this year organized and carried out in Bjelovar and in Čakovec at the same time and with the results:
- Qualified and educated teachers which will continue with the realization of the program during this school year
- Two modern fully equipped IT classrooms in the building of Higher Education Institution Bjelovar (30 computers)
- Manual «I Want to Be an Entrepreneur» for the trade school students

Although the project is completed, the high school teachers will continue to teach according to the program of entrepreneurship education of Bjelovar high school students – future entrepreneurs. 

Poslovni Park Bjelovar passed the competition EU CARDS 2004 (project ideas for business infrastructure) with the project “Business Training Centre”. The project partner is Bjelovar city. 

The project goal is to increase the counseling quality for the entrepreneurs, especially regarding better terms for acquiring new knowledge and skills. Through the CARDS 2004 project, the technical help was acquired and the knowledge of the users in the project preparation from business infrastructure field is increased.

The activities that lead to the goal: 
- Reconstruction and adaptation of the attic in the Poslovni Park Bjelovar building
- Equipping the attic with modern equipment and software
- Organization of the cycle of interactive business trainings

The project is in phase of obtaining the building permit.

Poslovni Park Bjelovar d.o.o. successfully prepared the common project Bilogora Horse-back Riding Paths in which participated, as equal, towns of Bjelovar, Daruvar and Grubišno Polje, Bjelovar – Bilogora County, Tourist Office of Bjelovar – Bilogora County, Tourist Office of Bjelovar city, Districts of Velika Pisanica, Veliko Trojstvo, Veliki Grđevac, Rovišće, Šandrovac, Kapela, Severin, Nova Rača, Zrinski Topolovac.

The carrier of the project is Horse association Bilogora – Papuk 1991 from Veliko Trojstvo, and the project was financed with the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Traffic and Development funds. The purpose of the project is to mark riding paths which would pass woods and fields along the full length of Bilogora passing by rivers and creeks through protected area between woods and roads thus connecting the most interesting places and sights, inns, farms and tourist objects.

Paths would be used as well as walking and cycling paths and should initiate tourist development of the whole Bilogora region. 

Poslovni Park was a partner to the School for Crafts and Trades in Bjelovar in EU project CARDS 2003 “Education centre for programming CNC machines and computer modeling”.

We helped to prepare documentation for the competition, cooperated in the realization through inclusion of entrepreneurs in educations defined by project. The cycles of educations in accordance with the needs of labor market was organized, and involved were entrepreneurs, students, teachers and unemployed persons. Professional improvement included several improvement programs: from the IT basics, learning about CNNC machines programming, modeling by program package CATIA and PRO ENGINEER, AUTOCAD, to the methodic and didactics of education in modern technology. The school also acquired CNC milling machine through project funds.

The project “Needs for knowledge, skills and skilled workers in Bjelovar – Bilogora County economy analysis”. The project was initiated by Chamber of Crafts and Trades of Bjelovar – Bilogora County, and was carried out by Bjelovar association for development and employment together with Poslovni Park, Croatian Deployment Service Bjelovar, Open University Bjelovar, Chamber of Commerce of Bjelovar – Bilogora County, Association of high school principals, Bjelovar – Bilogora County and Bjelovar city as partners.

The research included 1594 companies and crafts in five towns in the County (Bjelovar, Daruvar, Garešnica, Čazma, Grubišno Polje). The research was in the field conducted by 74 interviewers, all unemployed persons and at the end of the research, 2006 only 23 of them were still unemployed. The project was financed after the successful application of the association to the competition Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. The results were shown in the printed report and on CD.

The project results were used during the preparation of Strategy of Economic Growth of Bjelovar city which was carried out by Poslovni Park who was also the most important operative partner in the project.

Poslovni Park Bjelovar is the holder of the making of the economic development Velika Pisanica District program. 

Project Goal is:
- To define developmental goals, needs and through them to define priorities of Velika Pisanica District
- To determine measures, programs and activities on the basis of defined goals, needs and priorities in order to realize goals
- Defined programs and projects adapt to the inclusion in ROP
- To strengthen public/private partnership and to put in motion resources for usage of national and local capacities, public/private investments, and EU funds
- To educate local participants in the development process

Economic Development Program of Velika Pisanica District was designed in August 2006.
