Free Zone Bjelovar and Business Zone Novi Borik – Lepirac are situated along the northern detour, the area of 21,88 ha. The Zone is equipped with complete communal infrastructure, gas, water, electricity and phone installations. There are crossing at the entrance, zone roads, sidewalk and green areas. In the Free zone Bjelovar, the Italian company CORMO, dealing with the production of wooden carpentry, has built its production plant. In the business area Novi Borik – Lepirac, Bjelovar’s company Pevec d.o.o. has bought the lot.
The Free Zone is the part of the territory of the Republic of Croatia but specially separated and marked and where the business activities are done according to the special terms (certain level of customs, tax, international trade and foreign currency system privilege). How the business is done in the Free Zone is regulated by the Free Zone Law (N/N 44/96), amendmened by the Investment Inducing Law (NN 73/00).
The activities that could be done in the Free Zone are production of goods, finishing goods, wholesale and trade agencies activities, service providing, bank and other currency activities, insurance of persons and properties services, insurance of real estates and people.
